Message from the MD

Welcome to the Insight Institute of Management & Technology (IIMT). As a not-for-profit organization, we continue to empower communities through education by providing high-quality vocational and academic programs. This year, we have made significant strides in our mission to expand access to education and bridge the skills gap in various industries.

In 2024, we expanded our offerings by conducting lectures for external students of the University of Colombo School of Computing (UCSC) for their Foundation and BIT degree programs. Our commitment to vocational excellence remains strong, with NVQ Level 3 and 4 courses in fields like Automobile Mechanics, Automobile Electricians, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning.

We also began a comprehensive development program aimed at obtaining degree-awarding status from the Ministry of Education. As part of this, we enhanced our infrastructure with new academic buildings, digital classrooms, and fully equipped labs. Additionally, we improved student facilities, including a cafeteria, medical room, and gymnasium.

This year, we took steps to digitalize our management processes by implementing cloud-based ERP solutions for accounting and student management. We also introduced MOODLE for flexible academic delivery and KOHA for efficient library management. These upgrades are designed to streamline operations and enhance the student experience.

To support our growth, we launched human resource development initiatives, including specialized training for our lecturers in collaboration with international experts. These programs aim to continuously improve our teaching and administrative capabilities, ensuring the highest standards in education.

Looking ahead, we are excited about the future as we plan to build new facilities, including a six-story IT building and a technology department extension. With these developments, we are poised to offer even more opportunities for our students and continue our mission of empowering through education.
